What does the IP65 rating actually cover?

The IP65 rating applies to the front panel: it is dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets from the front, suitable for splash and wash-down cleaning of the screen face. The rear enclosure and connectors are not IP65 and should be installed inside a protected cabinet; fully enclosed IP-rated cabinets can be supplied as an OEM project.

Can operators use it with gloves or wet hands?

Yes. The projected-capacitive controller can be tuned for thin/medium gloves and moisture; for heavy industrial gloves or stylus-only workflows MHY offers a 5-wire resistive touch version on the same chassis.

Can we lock the BOM and BIOS for a multi-year machine program?

Yes. For OEM machine builders MHY controls BOM changes, provides fixed BIOS settings (auto-power-on, wake-on-LAN, watchdog) and notifies customers before approved component substitutions, which keeps your certification and software images stable over the product lifecycle.

Which OS should we specify?

Use Windows 10/11 IoT when your SCADA/HMI software is Windows-based, Android for lightweight interactive apps and lowest cost, and Linux/Ubuntu for custom or containerized workloads. MHY ships pre-imaged, tested units with your image to remove on-site setup.
